What information do we collect?

When you set up an account on our website we ask for your full name, telephone number, address and email address. There are options to provide us with your date of birth and company name, however these are not mandatory. Additionally when a purchase is made, we also ask for a delivery address and payment method details. Our website does not directly collect any credit card information. It does however work with a secure payment provider called Opayo and PayPal who will process credit card payments on our behalf.

How is this data used?

We use the information we collect about you to process orders, issue refunds and to provide a shopping experience that is more tailored for you. We may occasionally send you information about important changes to our website, policies, products, details of promotions and special offers from The Candle Store. You can opt out of this at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all emails that we send you. What information do we share?

In order to fulfil your order and process your payment details, we may share your personal information with our trusted service providers, including but not limited to our payment providers, Opayo and PayPal and our delivery provider, GLS Ireland. We only provide information required by them to provide their services and not for marketing or commercial purposes. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others under any circumstances.

How do we protect customer information?

When you place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, as required by law, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.

Cookies

A cookie is a small data file sent from our server and stored on your computer’s hard drive essentially allowing our website to remember your current session in order to provide you with a better browsing experience. Our Cookies do not store personal information such as email addresses or phone numbers.

The Candle Store are not directed to individuals under 16. Phishing Emails

We will never ask you to confirm any account or credit card details via email. If you receive an email claiming to be from The Candle Store asking you to do so, please ignore it and do not respond.
